That's a really nice contrast between the two side of your photograph. Not much to say about composition and idea, nice.
A shorter depth of field would have been nice too. The tiles on the sidewalk are a little distracting. Time to invest into a SLR ;)

Wow! Excellent use of design principles, including contrast and proximity (isolation). This has awesome visual impact. The line of the curb starts at a sweet spot and leads our eye directly toward the main subject. Again...WOW! :)
Great shot _o_, even the 'statues' hold a baby, like the contrast also. Only a shame that there's a lamp post in the middle, but you can't help that off course.
